My husband got in a fight with a ZOMBIE!!!

No seriously!
He was!

Okay bear with me on this one, I can't make this shit up.

So last night we went to 6 flags in Vallejo, CA and got tickets to Fright Night. We got the roller coasters and then at 6 the park switches over to "fright night" and all the zombies come out and the haunted houses open. It was really cool.

We went through one and it was a "miner" theme. It wasn't scary but more a "jump out of no where" type of thing. We were right behind a family with teenage girls so they got all the screams. I even offered my beer to one zombie. It was pretty good.

We went through one that was a "pig slaughter" it was real Hills Have Eyes shit. NOT FUCKING FUNNY! Scared the fucking shit out of me. Bri got mad because I took the "chicken exit".

The third one we went to was a "junk yard" theme. It was pretty freaky, not going to lie.
We got through the most of it. and in the middle we went around a bend and there was a fence with 2 empty oil barrels. B saw the zombie and put himself between it and me. So the zombie jumps up to scare us and goes to hit the oil barrel with a steel pipe.... well he hit B instead.

Fucking swinging for the fences and NAILS B right across the top of his right wrist. The poor kid look petrified. he couldn't have been older then 17. he was so freaked out that B was going to hit him.

So I put on my bitch face and we booked it out of the house. we didn't get stopped by a single zombie the rest of the way out. We get to the end and tell the security guy what happened.
Then we waited.
Waited for the EMT (park rule).
Waited for the "lead" on this house.
Waited for the supervisor.
Waited for guest services. etc etc.

All we wanted was for the kid to be talked to and be more careful. I mean it could have been a small kid. and we wanted our money back. We still had 2.5 hours of park to go. It was such a cluster.

The worse part is this can effect B's PT test and B's deployment. If he's on lifting restrictions, he can't do his job with a lifting restriction. then if he can't do his job, he can't get deployed.

I mean its to fucking funny.
He has the best legit story

"DUDE what happened"
"Zombie Fight"
BOOM!
lol.

The more things change, The more they stay the same

So I was reminded today about the circle of life in the world of the military.

A fellow blogger Chelle @ The Winey Mommy said good bye to her husband today. She sent him off to serve his country and do is duty. It breaks my heart and makes me thank the lord, that at the moment I have my husband.

Its kind of interesting, like the world wanted me to realize how lucky I was. I happen to log on to blogger minutes after she had posted on her blog about saying good bye.

I had been complaining to my friends via texts that i was trying to 'sweat my way to a better mood' in the gym. I was upset with B about something really really really stupid and petty this morning. I left the gym still feeling cruddy and now I felt cruddy and sore. When I logged on and saw her post I got out of that mood pretty darn quick. Nothing snaps you out of a cruddy mood here faster than seeing a fellow military wife lose half her heart.

And I also fine it at no coincidence that today is also the 9th anniversary of 9/11. Sometimes its easy to lose focus on what is important in life and what you should be thankful for. But today... today I was reminded of how lucky I am. I hope on a day like today, that has forever changed many lives, I hope you all stay thankful.

I hope you all hug your loved ones a little more securely tonight.
I hope you all thank the lord for the breath you take and the kisses you get.
I hope you all are snuggled down with the loved ones you have (may they be 2 legged or 4)
I hope you all remember
I hope you all stay thankful.

First Step - Tracking my ideas

I mentioned a while back that i bought a planner/journal to track my thoughts for my blog. I thought i'd show you...

It started like this: Just a list, short ideas of what i had done or thought about during the day.
It slowly has evolved into this:
I've always been a huge 'doodler'. I've always been the kid with designs on the sides of the paperwork.

I kind of love it!!!

Q&A Part 1

My first (and only ::sigh::) comment on my ask rotty post was from Isha. Who i absolutely adore. She asks:

Do you think your opinion and love of the military will change in the future when you plan on having children? Or will your plans be adjusted, or remain as is?

Answer:
Does my love for the military change my plans for kids? yes, yes it does. But not the way of having or not having kids. Kids have always been a part of our future goals. I've always always wanted to be a mother and B is going to be an amazing father. It just changes how its all going to work out. When we're both in the military, it makes things just a bit different because there are so so so many more things to think about. So many things that most civilian's don't have to think about. Like life insurance, family medical plan, family care plans, and wills. I'm not saying that all civilian's don't think about this. but I don't think they need all these in place before the kid is old enough to talk . It just throws a different spin on planning our family

I believe the military life offers a lot of things that civilian life doesn't do enough. I believe it shows you to be grateful for what you have, to know you're blessed with each day, and it teaches you honor. I think the military life helps add values to kids that a lot of kids i see lately are missing. yes, a lot of it has to do with the parenting. but there are so many other factors that contribute to the factor to the outcome of offspring. I really want to instill values in my kids and i'm so excited to try.

It makes planning a family different, maybe a little harder. but defiantly doable and plan-able. I can't wait to make military brats!
cause than i can rock this t-shirt:

Friend Making Monday (almost)

Yes i know its still Sunday, but if i wait till tomorrow i know it'll never happen. so here comes

This weeks topic is:

What are you going to be for Halloween?
In case you aren't familiar with F.M.M. AeFillkins does Fmm or Friend making Monday every Monday. She introduces a question and then has a link-a-mabober at the end of her post to introduce people. Its 7 shades of awesome.

I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately

1) B will be out of town (... again)
2) it has to be conservative
3) the only place I'll have to wear it is during my coaching session for my juniors that morning.

So these are the ideas I had... were lets say to risque for the place's I'd wear them. I thought about being a real life version of a Disney princess (who doesn't want to be a princess?) but then i realized that all my Juniors were boys and the whole effect would be lost on them. so.... I'm at a loss for what to be for Halloween. How can i be girly and yet still have some standing with 5 3-6 year old little boys.

Any ideas?

I'd be happy to hear them?!?

I thought about just wearing my Air Force ACU's and rocking those. 1) no money 2) i know they fit and 3) I'd relate to the boys.

but i don't want that i want to 'be' something or someone for Halloween. At this point I'm fresh out of ideas.

Here's the ideas i had, if Brian was still going to be in town...

I thought a saloon girl and cowboy would be a cool idea. B would have had to 'dress up' that much. and i could be a saloon girl, which would have been awesome.
We could have been pirates!! pirates!!! who doesn't want to be a pirate?!?

I could have been a gangster/mobster. that would have been awe.some!
We could have been Mario & Peach! how cute would that have been?! I would love to be peach! LOVE!!

But, I've always wanted to be a sexxxxxxy cop. but nope. that's not going to happen. To sexxxy.
So if you had to get up and get dressed EARLY Saturday morning and coach a group of teeny boys, what would you be?

Adventures in lasagna

So I know it's so so silly. but, I've never made lasagna. I know, weird right?

So one day we FINALLY got some cooler weather so i figure why not make some comfort food. So I called my mom (queen of the lasagna) and asked for some advice. I know the basic idea of lasagna.

sauce, noodles, cheese, sauce, noodles, cheese. I get it. lol. but its the ingredients that go into the sauce, noodles, and cheese that make it or break it.

And so it starts. I Got everything out and got it ready.
I love me some ricotta Cheese. love love love.
Then I added in the spices. To be honest. I just added stuff that looked like it should go in lasagna. I couldn't tell you exactly how much or exactly what it was. but I would add, taste, adjust. And so on until i liked the mixture. It worked out pretty well.
This is B cooking up the ground turkey to go in the lasagna. He wouldn't stand still long enough for me to get a decent picture. Believe it or not after 5 tries this IS the best one. lol.
After i got the spice mixture right i added shredded mozzarella and mixed it all up.
I bought the Non-boil noodles. I was really nervous about over cooking the noodles, so i decided this was the safest bet.
The layering begins...
I had some difficulty getting the cheese to spread evenly. I'm not sure why but it was really difficult.
Ready for the oven.
Following the directions on the noodle box, it says to put tinfoil over it until 5 min before it is supposed to be done. Then take the foil off and let it cook for another 5 min to let the cheese melt up.
I think it worked pretty darn well.
Fresh out of the oven!!

I think it turned out pretty darn well!!! Brian's only suggestion was to have more sauce next time. Which i agreed it needed a bit more sauce. I only used one jar, and it didn't look like it had enough. but i really liked it. I really really did.

mmmmm.... ground turkey lasagna.
Not bad for my first time! lol!
