As the sand through the hour glass

so are the days of our lives.

I've come to notice how strong i am in my self and in my relationship with my husband over the week. I haven't talked to my mother or my brother in over a week, and i am not quite sure when i'll be ready to talk to them. I feel super terrible for my dad, who seems stuck in the middle.

so this weekend is another 'duty weekend'

i used to look forward to these weekends. they were full of laughter and fun, full of friends and family. Now they are just a pain. the 2.5 hour drive, the shity hotel, the super crappy people. There is such a division of people in this new place. there is them and us. there is the old people and the new people. Gah! its frustrating. In my old place i knew my role. I had things i did and people who were truley happy to see me each month. Now its just about how fast can i make the day go by. what can i do to pass the time. and it sucks! it really sucks. I love my duty and i love what i do, but them and this place makes it so so so hard to enjoy.

in may i get to go to Virginia and that should be really interesting. I've only been to the east coast but one time. and that was for a 2 hour lay over while our plane refuled on our trip to germany. we didn't even leave the terminal. but what is new. i never leave the terminal. hahahaha!

If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes.

So as many of you know i bowl on a league on Thursdays nights. I bowled on a team with my little brother "R" and my husband and a friend. My Parents bowled on a differant team with their friends. I've been around this leauge since i was born and it and the people on it mean the world to me.

Well last night was bowling AND their was a blazer game on. you all know how i love my blazers. Well they don't have TV's in the alley (dumb idea!) so we had to run into the bar.

Not that far away. B bowls before me. so we had this 'tag team' thing going. He would go bowl while i was watching the game. Then he would come and 'tap out' and i'd go bowl. then when I came back in i'd tell him, and 2 of the other teams players who was up and they'd bowl. So in the bar was me and B and 2 of the players from the other team. w

ell we waited till the 4th quarter... then the blazers went into DOUBLE OVER TIME (against the bulls!)!!!well the game is almost over and B tells me that R is mad at me because i'm not bowling 'up to potential' the second game.

The first game i shot 6 pins over average but struggled even with out the game. I don't bowl league for average or to win, i bowl to have fun with friends and family. Well the game gets over, so we go down to our lanes.

FYI at that point there was over 25 people in the bar, so we weren't alone. my brother is down on my parents lanes biitching about us. Well he gets back to our lanes (he was up, but was busy talking), and he starts in on us saying shiit like "are you here now?" "are you realy really sure?" "are you able to make the distinction between basketball and bowling? because i'm not sure you can" and blah blah blah....well it dies down and we bowl a couple more frames.

and i go over to tlak to him. NORMALLY my brother and i can talk it out. He says something about the rules and how he could have us removed from the game blah blah. I told him i'm not just a team mate i'm his sister and i believe his taking this a little far. He then tells me to grow up and get over it. Yet, he's the one upset over a bowling game. we get into it again. i get in his face and he gets in mine. i stop and go bowl.

while i'm up to bowl R gets in B's face and they start in. i step in between them. B goes up to bowl at this point i've only thrown 1 ball and i'm still up. My little brother R then calls B an alcholic and this and that. I almost biitch slapped him then and there. but i didn't. I got pretty heated though. and told him he had "no right to say such things". again B had 4 beers. thats all.

i go up to finish my frame and while i'm up to bowl R calls me a tvvat!!!!i didn't hear it, but B, and the other team heard it. B goes after R. and i again step in the middle. this time my mom comes down. and steps in between. FYI, she works at the bowling ally, but isn't on the clock. B asks her "if it was any other man that just called your daughter a tvvat... what would you do or say?" she didn't respond. she just said she had to stand there and seperate us because it was her job. at this point i'm bawling.

i tell her she needs to put someone else (who is on the clock and acually working and NOT related to me) to stand where she is. and she says no. i'm like 'i'm asking you as your daugter don't do this, bring someone else in' she told me no. we finish bowling and me and b decided we're not going back. i told my dad (who is the league secratary and can remove people) that we wouldn't be back. he goes "just give it time, let me talk to him".... i just look at him (i'm a huge daddy's girl) and say "if it was any other man who said that to me, you'd kick him off the league. but its not, its R. so i am removing myself from the league. You know how much this league means to me and i am leaving". I'm still crying. i give him a hug and me and b leave.
phew....

commute adventures take 2

So i had some funny happenings today on my way home. fairly interesting.

on the way off the hill on the sky tram, there were 2 people who were afraid of heights. the Street car wasn't too bad, i got a nice warm heater spot. In case you haven't realized, heater spots are very important. It was calm for the most part. roughly busy, but not bad.

then i waited for max. I got stuck with the old cars. Those cars aren't handicap accessible, old, and generally sucky. there is less seating, and your much MUCH closer to those you don't want to be close to.

well i thought i had gotten lucky and wouldn't have anyone sit around me. there are 4 seats, 2 on each side facing each. well i got unlucky really fast. this festively plump lady and man came to sit in front of me. she didn't ask if she could sit in front of me. I know its not 'my' seat but to me its public transportation courtesy. that and give me a second to move. she just says "i am sitting here"

well... they sit down and start talking. come to find out they had just met at one of Portland's many free lunch places. And she is going to his house with him. They keep talking, he asks her what kind of music she likes. her response " i like anything with a beat, i don't like the music you can't fvkk too". WOW! Then she says something about how they were meant to meet because they both never go there but they did today. it was rather entertaining for my commute.

then this lovely woman sits down after the 'couple' gets off. and i have to stifle my laughter when i see her and her drawn on eye brows that come down to the corners of her eyes. god it was funny to see.

then in the back ground there is a boy with tourettes who is making car noises and some other random noises and a hooker trying to pick up a new john.

all in all... pretty funny commute. I didn't get to wet and no one bugged me to bad.
i consider this a win-day in my commute.

commute adventures

So on todays episode i got introduced to a new player in my commute. I have named her several times in my head, but the name is to long so it must be shortend. This morning, i thought i could make it to the park-n-ride, but i didn't have enough gas. So i missed the early early train by like 3 min. oh well. but then i is Pouring rain and i forgot my gloves. And to top it off B forgot to buy me a jan pass, so i had to buy a weekly pass. boo for wasting money.

i got a heater seat. so good for that.

then in comes the new charachter in my little head game i like to call a commute. so far her name is "old ADD lady who needs to shut the hellz up". see what i'm saying about the name. I have seen her a couple times before, but could pretty much ignore her. The clincher was a couple weeks ago when she was swinging her lunch bag and almost hit me with it. This lady can NOT stand still to save her life. and she will talk to anyone and everyone loudly! i have a volume on my mp3 player that barely changes. its loud enough to drown out most of the noises but not to high that i can't hear the 'bing bongs' of the conductor coming over the speaker.
This may seem meaning less, but i had to turn up my volume. i was not pleased.
all in all it wasn't too bad
got to work early
