some baby carrots

today i also made:

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

Tonights Dinner

Potato Chowder

Quick Corn and Potato Chowder

2 cups water
2 cups milk
2 medium yellow/white/red potatoes (skin on- chopped)
1 can corn- drained (yes, CANNED CORN! ZOMG!)
1 chicken boullion cube
sea salt, black pepper, basil, onion powder, celery salt, smoked paprika
corn starch & water (it's better to mix the corn starch in water first & then use it to thicken)

(we also added real bacon bits and obviously didn't add the corn)

In a medium saucepan: add the water & boullion cube- cover & cook the potatoes until tender (about 15 min or so)
turn the heat down to medium low & add the corn & milk (don't drain the potatoes because the starchy water will add flavor & thickness)- mix & then add seasonings to taste (not too much, no need to overwhelm, but make sure to use plenty of salt & pepper)

Allow the chowder to simmer for about 5-10 min- while it simmers, add the corn starch (to desired thickness)
Remove from heat & ladel into bowls- NOM NOM!!!

p.s. you can top with cheese or bacon or whatever you want- i just keep it simple :) [We added cheese to the top)

Cheddar Biscuits
Biquick Mix
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Follow the directions on the Bisquick box- add the cheese into the mix & plop them on a greased baking sheet (usually not greased but cheese requires grease people!)
Bake for about 10 min- butter & eat! YUM!

OMG! TO.DIE.FOR!!! I would eat my weight in these and then marry them if i could.

Thank you T.Bird. If you weren't already married and a mom i'd as you to marry me and be the mother of my children

My New Blog

So I take some pride in being a pretty good present giver. I take time and careful thought into each and every gift and every wrapping and every box. So I decided to make a blog about it.

I love to send gifts
I love to see people’s faces
It’s a sickness really.

Ask my husband... he'll tell you.
I'm in need of a serious 12 step program to quit buying presents. But if I blog about all my ideas and share them... maybe... just maybe it'll help. Pshh yah right!

Sooo I debut: ROTTY SHOPS

Starting Next Week

These are my goals:
♥ Less than 1 can of soda a day
♥ More water
♥ No Starbucks
♥ Bring my lunch to work every day
♥ No snacks ate work that aren't fruit or approved snack bars
♥ No drinking during the week
♥ Work out in the mornings, and if i fail to work out in the morning, work out that evening.
♥ Make dinner at home
♥ spend as much time with my husband as possible.

I'm seriously dedicated - so dedicated that i cleaned out my desk at work, put it in a bag, gave it to my boss to take home to her kids.

If i don't have it around, i won't eat it.... hopefully.

Somethings to think about...

I got this email today... i just had to share it

Somethings to think about:
* Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

* There is a great need for a sarcasm font.

* How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

* I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

* The only time I look forward to a red light is when Im trying to finish a text.

* Was learning cursive really necessary?

* I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

* MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

* Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

* Bad decisions make good stories

* You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

* I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

* I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

* As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

* Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

* I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call..

* I think that if, years down the road when Im trying to have a kid, I find out that I'm sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.

* Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my a$$ everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

* My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

* I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

* I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

That one of my old friends is friends with my ex... Again. She had introduced me to said ex. they were friends before we became friends

Me and said ex had a very passionate and volatile relationship.

This ex royally fucked up both my relationship with brain and her relationship with her husband.

It fucked up her relationship so bad that they called off their engagement and broke up for several months.

I don't talk to her much anymore. But I got bored and looked her up on face book. And there he was.

.... Why does this bug me so much?

It makes my decision to cut ties with her more solid. I’ve been wishy washy about it for a while.

Me and brain got drunk one day and he told me he didn't like her because she had a part in the bad period in our relationship in the beginning.

And I understood that so I didn't ask him to do 'couple' things anymore with them. And just slowly we grew apart.

Now this.

I feel betrayed.
But I don't think I have a right to feel that way.

stupid facebook.
i was perfectly okay thinking he no longer existed.

Its the simple things

There are often moments, and sometimes they’re so simple, that just make you think how lucky you are.

Last night after a hard day's work I came home, feeling kind of frustrated. When I walked in the door B stopped his game, got up, and looked so excited that I was home. He walked into the living room and gave me a big old hug and a kiss. I was shocked and my mood was totally switched

It’s the little things like this that make me so lucky to have him.
He makes me so incredibly happy and he doesn't even do it on purpose

My mother may ruin my marriage

So as I stated in my last post, I've been going through quite a bit.

I went on vacation (sun-tues) to Vegas with my family: me, B, mom, dad, broha, & g-ma.
If we ever spend that much time with my family again, I’ll be going alone. There is NO way my marriage could withstand something like that again.

-She always has something negative to say

-She always has something to be upset about

And the woman who's been separated 2x and had paperwork pending on divorce tries to give me advice. No thanks ma.

I like my mother, don't get me wrong. But there is so much I hate about her its not even funny.

I can't stand the way she treats my husband.
I hate the way she treats me.
I hate the way she always has something 'to say'.

I’m just done.

I think after the holidays we're going to go on a family break.
None of his family - unless its his dad (he's the only one on our good side).
None of my family - period.

If we don't take a step away from them we're doomed.
There is so much stress going on in our lives

I just don't know what to do.

::smacks hands:: BAD BLOGGER!

I've been a bad bad blogger.
but here are my excuses
1) i've been dealing with a lot of personal problems. Ones i need to get off my chest but can't ever get more than a few seconds of alone time to do so.
2) we went on vacation. to sum it up in 2 words: beautiful disaster or Never Again.
3) i've been a busy busy beaver.
4) i'm just so tired.

i promise i will post more, but at the moment i need to make my coffee, check my email, and scoot off to work for the first time since last thursday.

Wine Help

So I've become a little burnt out on beers and am slowly craving wine more and more.

Please help a wine virgin out.
Recommend your favorite wines (with links if possible so i can see).

Tonight i got 3 bottles from local wineries
I got 2 from Honeywood Wines

And then i got 1 bottle from Bridgeview Wines I have seen these a couple times before, i figure its a good place to start.

what are your suggestions?

I have found that I'm a bigger fan of red wines than white. but I'm willing to try anything.

Late Night Confession Friday

♥ Yep, I'm currently following 199 blogs. And I've tried to go through and delete some, and I just can't bring myself to get rid of any. i just keep adding.

♥ I currently I'm pretty gosh darn sick. but my baby dog baby is sicker than me and I'm worried about him.
♥ I pay more attention to Sammy when he was done throwing up so that B would clean up the puke.
♥ Sammy is currently shivering while sleeping in my tshirt wrapped around him. I'm still worried about him.
♥ I would quit my job today if i could. but i can't and i am kind of bitter about it. The worse work gets the more o f a bitter bitch I become.
♥ I'm watching 'Say Yes to the Dress' and I'm so glad i don't have that money because most of these females are horrible humans.
♥ I hate HATE HATE that i work 45-50 hour weeks plus and i still do most of the house work and 3-5 days worth of dinner cooking. I know B's having a rough time. but i feel like if he kept himself busy he'd be happier
♥ because i know that he's having a hard time, i can't bring myself to tell him how much stress it adds to me.
♥ Last week i emailed B 5 recipes to choose from, told him I'd cook it if he would just choose one. his response 'well, why don't you choose one'. when i hung up the phone i cried out of sheer frustration.
♥ I've come to the conclusion that i have a complete inability to not give my job my absolute all. even if i hate it.
♥ I called in sick to work today knowing full well that it was going to be a chaotic day with lots of shit going on. I do not feel bad about it. i was sick and probably contagious, but i take glorious pleasure in the fact that she probably freaked out. ::laughs to self::
♥ My face is warm
♥ my cheeks are tingly
♥ i ♥ wine
♥ i ♥ red red wine
♥ i ♥ semi-drunk confession Fridays.

Time Out Thursday

Time For Time Out Thursday

Good morning all, Its Time Out Thursday again. I love that its already thursday.

This week was similar to last week.

My time out this week was MAKING (not finding making time!) Time for the gym. I tried their boot camp class again. And while i love love love it. I'm still quite sick and couldn't make it through their whole class. The real teacher was back this week, he's freaking awesome. He's Air Force Special Forces. And he's a freaking KILLER!

I'm so so sore. He yelled. He screamed. He MOTIVATED. I'm so excited for next week to go back!

Then i came home, made my Pasta Bake, and had 2 glasses 1 bottle 1 small bottle (makes me feel better) of wine. and watched dexter with my loving husband and my sick baby boy (sammy had issues yesterday, long story)

My time out thursday = gym + wine + food + cuddletime!!!
